Give your partners feedback on their Slant skills. As a large group, share any feedback (what made you feel good, what was uncomfortable, etc).

3. Developing Questions for the Speaker Series (15 minutes)
Three different professionals from different industry sectors, or graduating college students, will be coming to your class to share with you their passion for what they do, their education, a little about themselves, and advice they have for students wanting to pursue the career they are in. Each speaker will have 10-15 minutes to share and answer your questions. Remember, the professionals are here for you. The more you interact with them in a respectful and intelligent way, the better.

  • In groups of 2-4, brainstorm some types of questions that would be beneficial and appropriate to ask the professionals during the speaker series. After a few minutes, have each group share out at least one question. Have a recorder write these down in a visible location, like poster paper, to leave up in the classroom for that Advisory class as a reminder during the Speaker Series.
  • Review some questions here as a whole class as well and add those to your list as desired.
